The Black Waltz Lottery
The Black Waltz Lottery occurs every Monday at 11:00pm EST.**
To participate, Free Company Members must choose a number from 1 - 999 and submit 10,000 gil to the Lottery Coordinator for their ticket. The Free Company will always set the base Lottery winnings at 1,500,000 gil; however, this amount could grow if there are any donations to the Lottery Pool from members outside of their standard 10,000 gil ticket purchase.
Additionally, additional bonuses prizes may be added via donations by Free Company members and can include mounts, minions, and other things. These bonus items will only be announced during the Lottery as many are donated shortly before the draw.
The cutoff to purchase a ticket for the lottery is 10:45pm EST to give time for the Lottery Coordinator to prepare the necessary macros and spreadsheets needed for the draw.
At 11:00pm EST, a randomized number generator will choose a number between 1 and 999 (this is achieved by our Lottery Coordinator using the /random function in-game). Note: This number will be seen by anyone in the room and cannot be altered. The player whose number is the closest to the number drawn will win the Lottery! In the event that two players are an equal number away from the Drawn Number, the Lottery Pool will be divided equally and given to both players.
LOTTERY RULES:
- Only players who have paid 10,000 Gil and provided their number choice to the Lottery Coordinator will be included in the draw;
- The deadline for submissions is 15-minutes prior to the Lottery Draw;
- Players may contribute more than 10,000 Gil into the Lottery Pool to grow the amount, but they are only eligible for 1 draw;
- In the event of a tie (an equal number between 2 players' number choices), the winnings will be split and shared between both players;
- Players do not have to be present at the draw to win the lottery; however if they wish to see other participants’ number choices, they must be present; and,
- If a player wishes to participate but isn’t able to be online within a reasonable time before the Lottery, or a new player wishes to participate but can not afford the ticket costs, they may have their ticket sponsored by another FC member.
- If a player is not able to send the lottery coordinator their ticket due to them not being online or afk, they can submit to any Waltz Leader and they will forward it on your behalf.

In the event that there is scheduled maintenance or a conflicting Free Company event, the date and time of both the Free Company Lottery and Free Company Powerball Lottery may be moved to Wednesday night at 12:00am EST.
The Black Waltz POWERBALL
The Black Waltz Lottery
The Black Waltz Powerball Lottery occurs every Monday at 11:10pm EST and Friday at 11:00pm EST.**
To participate in the Powerball, Free Company Members must choose a number from 1 - 999 and pay the 100,000 Gil ticket cost to the Lottery Coordinator. The Powerball Jackpot will vary weekly based on tickets purchased and will continue to grow until a Free Company member has won. When a Free Company Member wins, the Jackpot is reset to 5,000,000 Gil and will start to grow all over again.
Note: 100% of all tickets purchased are used to increase the Powerball Jackpot.
At approximately 11:10pm EST (11:00pm EST on Friday), the Lottery Coordinator will draw a randomized number between 1 - 999 using the /random command in-game. This number will be seen by anyone in the room and cannot be altered. The player whose number matches the drawn number exactly (on the dot) will win the Powerball Jackpot! If no winner is determined during the draw, the current Jackpot amount will carry over to the next Powerball and the process is repeated until there is a winner.
Unlike the Waltz Regular Lottery, there is no guaranteed weekly winner with the Powerball; however, the Jackpot will continue to grow week over week.
Important: Each Powerball is considered a fresh lottery. Therefore, a new ticket must be purchased by members each time there is a new draw if they wish to be able to play.
Number choices and ticket costs for the Powerball can be sent to Istari Xiomar via Mogmail at any point during the week. Sending via Mogmail ensures all numbers are recorded and saved in the event of a dispute. If submitting tickets for both types of lotteries on Mondays, please ensure it is indicated which number is for which lottery in the Mogmail and send both tickets in one Mogmail.
POWERBALL RULES:
- Only players who have paid 10,000 Gil and provided their number choice to the Lottery Coordinator will be included in the draw.
- The deadline for submissions is 15 minutes prior to the Lottery Draw.
- Players may not contribute more-than 100,000 gil into the Lottery Pool and no donations are accepted for the Powerball.
- In the event that two players choose the same number choice (1 - 999), priority will be given to the player who chose the number first. The Lottery coordinator will attempt to contact the second player and they will have to choose another number.
- Members do not have to be present at the draw to win the lottery; however if they wish to see other participants’ number choices, they must be present.
- If a player wishes to participate but is not able to be online within a reasonable time before the Lottery, or a new player wishes to participate but can not afford the ticket costs, they may have their ticket sponsored by another Free Company member.
- If no winner is determined during the Powerball draw, the value of the Lottery Pool will carry to the next week and continue to grow.
- Players must purchase a ticket each draw for the Powerball - once a draw is complete, all tickets purchased for that draw are void.
- In the event that Istari is not online and a member wishes to purchase a ticket, they reach out to any Waltz Leader ranking member and they will forward the ticket and number choice to Istari.
Note: If the Powerball Payout reaches 50,000,000 gil, it will be capped and the Powerball will be transformed into "The Golden Powerball." All additional ticket purchases after the cap will be placed into the Free Company Chest and will be used to fund future Free Company Events.
