Test your luck in the weekly Free Company Lottery! This Lottery has a guaranteed winner every week and all tickets purchased are added to the total prize money!
Unlike our normal Lottery, the Powerball does not have a guaranteed winner! Instead, the prize pool will grow week after week until a winner is determined!
Have a knack for treasure hunting? Want to test your luck in the gameshow dungeons, "Aquapolis" or "Lost Canals?" Looking to make some quick gil? This is the perfect event for you!
This "take-it-back" weekly event helps new, veteran, or returning players experience older content as it was originally intended.
The Black Waltz Lottery occurs every Monday at 11:00pm EST.**
To participate you must choose a number between 1 and 1000 and submit 10,000 Gil into the Lottery Pool. The pool will grow as each person buys a ticket - there is no cap to how large the pool can grow! In addition, the Free Company will always set the base Lottery Pool at 200,000 Gil. Any purchased tickets will add to this amount!
For example, if 50 players contribute, the pool will be 700,000 Gil (50 x 10,000 + Base FC Contribution).
At 11:00pm EST, a randomized number generator will choose a number between 1 and 1000 (this is achieved by our Lottery Coordinator using the /random function in game). *Note: This number will be seen by anyone in the room and cannot be altered.
The player whose number is the closest to the number drawn will win the Lottery Pool! In the event that two players are an equal number away from the Drawn Number, the Lottery Pool will be divided equally and given to both players.
If you need further clarification on how this works, or would like to participate, please reach out to Istari Xiomar in-game. You can Mogmail your Gil and number choice to Istari at any point during the week. All numbers are recorded and saved.
In the event that there is scheduled maintenance or a conflicting Free Company event, the date and time of both the Free Company Lottery and Free Company Powerball Lottery may be moved to Wednesday night at the same time.
The Black Waltz Powerball Lottery occurs every Monday at 11:15pm EST.**
To participate in the Powerball Lottery, you must choose a number between 1 and 1000 and submit 100,000 gil into the Lottery Pool. The Lottery Pool will grow as each person buys a ticket, which means that there is no cap to how large the pool of winnings can grow! In addition, the Free Company will always set the base Lottery Pool for the Powerball at 1,000,000 gil. Any additional tickets purchased for 100,000 gil will add to this amount!
For example, if 20 players contribute, the Lottery Pool will be 3,000,000 gil (20 x 100,000 + Base FC Contribution). This amount will keep growing *until* someone wins!
At approximately 11:15pm EST, a randomized number generator will choose a number between 1 and 1000 (this is achieved by our Lottery Coordinator using the /random function in game). *Note: This number will be seen by anyone in the room and cannot be altered.
Once the number is drawn, the player whose chosen number matches the randomly drawn number *exactly* will win the Lottery Pool! If no player's number matches the /random number, the Lottery Pool amount will carry over until the next Powerball draw and the process will repeat until a winner is determined. Unlike our regular FC Lottery, there is no guaranteed weekly winner in the Powerball Lottery; however, the value of the winnings has no cap and will continue to grow until a winner is determined.
If you need further clarification on how this works, or would like to participate, please reach out to Istari Xiomar in-game. You can Mogmail your Gil and number choice to Istari at any point during the week. All numbers are recorded and saved. Please specify "Powerball Lottery" when submitting your ticket so that the coordinators know which Lottery you are participating in. Lastly, you can buy a ticket for *both* weekly Lotteries.
Map Mondays occur every Wednesday evening at 8pm EST!
The requirement to participate is access to all Stormblood zones (if the group is planning on doing Gazelleskin maps for the Lost Canals) and all Heavenward zones (if the group is planning on doing Dragonskin maps for Aquapolis). Flight is not required in these zones but it is recommended because the amount of players with 2-seater mounts could be limited.
Parties will be formed on a first-come, first-serve basis. In the event that two full parties are formed and there are still members who want to participate, groups one and two will help create a third group by transferring one or two people so that everyone can participate. In the event that there are less-than enough people for two full groups, groups will be formed to try to have an equal number of players.
Each participating player must provide at least one map with them. The maximum amount of maps per player can be determined by the group during the event, depending on how many portals are found. A loose guideline to ensure fairness is that everyone should be able to have at least one portal each, which may take one, two, or even three maps.
Please note: each player should have the opportunity to do their first map before third rounds are started.
During the FC Map event, all loot is NEED for all players participating, regardless of who supplied the map. The reasoning behind this is that all players within the group are contributing to the success of the map, and therefore all should have an equal attempt at the loot.
If there is an item you need for something important, or are trying to collect (crafting materials, minions, orchestra rolls, etc), you can always ask the group if you can have it. Please remember that this is a shared event, so make sure it is for something important before you ask; everyone deserves a chance at loot.
If you have any questions about these guidelines/rules, please reach out to Istari in-game or via Discord.
**The guidelines are meant to ensure fairness and equality, which are fundamental principles of our Free Company. Any spontaneous map nights in which at least half of the group are members of our Free Company should use these guidelines to further promote our core values.
As time passes and Final Fantasy XIV gets bigger and bigger with content patches, older content becomes outdated and easier to complete. Many of the dungeons, trials, primals and raids added throughout the years were challenging upon release, but with the ability to unsync older content, these challenges have been forgotten.
Sync-It Sundays are the perfect way to go "back in time" to experience content as it was originally intended! Every Sunday at 5:00pm EST*, a Free Company group will use the Duty Finder settings to go into old content at minimum item level.
What does this mean?
All character stats, gear stats, HP, etc. will be synced down to the minimum requirement to enter the duty when it was first released. This will return the challenges to the original duty and, in some cases, require strategy, communication, and perseverance to complete. Content will be decided by the group upon party creation and can range from dungeons, trials, extreme primals or raids.
Participation is a first-come, first-serve basis. In the event that many players are interested and the party becomes full, a second group may be created as long as there are enough extra players to do so. This event is meant to be a fun way for many players to relive the past and for new players to experience something "new."
*In the event of conflicting events or work schedules, the time of this event may be moved to accommodate player needs.
